Today’s Virtual Environment

My husband has an iPhone. My husband loves his iPhone. My husband is never without his iPhone.

I detest the iPhone.

We went out for his birthday the other day. I almost had a moment of sheer excitement as he was getting out of the truck without his phone. My excitement was short lived; he had the phone in his hand before the door was shut. Sigh.

Nickel and Diming Me to Pieces

I just gave my telephone bill a good once over. Holy Cow! It sure adds up when all you want is a phone on the wall.

I’m not talking about additional fees for long distance, or high speed or digital either. Just a phone; something to give me the peace of mind that comes with having a way to reach 911 services. I know, the folks north of us have it a whole lot worse, but you know what? When you live in Buffalo, New York, you expect some winter weather. It comes with the territory. And that’s all I have to say about that.

Unusual Life Lesson

Are you an Ant or a Grasshopper?

Everyone knows the children’s story about the ant and the grasshopper.

  • The ant stays busy, looking towards the future.
  • The ant makes sure things are in place for the unknown.
  • The ant knows the meaning of organization.
  • The ant leads a productive existence.
  • The grasshopper lives true to its name, hopping around, living in the moment, frolicking through life without a care in the world. La La La! Life is good.
  • Carpe Diem!! Whoo Hoo!!! It’s happy fun time and that isn’t going to change.

Then it happens.
Hard times come.
Poor, Poor grasshopper.
