Delegate, Focus, and GROW Your Business

Featured Weekend Reading (10/15/10)

Yep, that flake is gold!
Holy moly, this week has had a lot of big news in business! Facebook pairing with Bing and Apple is pairing with Verizon to sell iPads in retail stores. Everyone’s gearing up for big changes in retail and online. I guess Black Friday is in their sights!

This weekend is the Dahlonega Gold Rush celebration event. Held the third weekend in October, thousands go to celebrate Dahlonega’s 1828 gold discovery with gold panning and so many more happenings.

Back in the gold rush days, it was everyone for themselves. Today, we have resources to help in business. Check these out during your weekend:

  • Friday Favorite: The Power of Silence – I like this post about silence. It is powerful in any situation. John uses it for his cycling classes to reconnect the group with the reason they are there today. Refocusing on the effort for being in a certain place helps refocus your mind and get to the finish line.
  • How to Promote a Business from Scratch – Have you just started a business? Are you wondering what to do now? Find out the details of how to promote a business from scratch from the virtual assistant podcast.
  • Are You Afraid of Connecting First? – Connections are what get you business and a job, if you need one. Take a few minutes and read over this guest post by Marian to learn how to get past fear and connect with people. You will discover it isn’t that hard and doggone it, people like you!
  • Building Long-Term Profitable Relationships on Social Media – Long term relationships are key to business success and sustainability. Find out how to do this by reading Beverly’s post. You can have the business you want. Try these recommendations and achieve your goals.

Whether you’ll be panning for gold this weekend or taking it easy, hope you all have a wonderful weekend and tell us which post resonated with you in the comments section. Comment how you can apply it to your work, business or personal life.
