Virtual Assistant at The Front and the Back

One thing our clients have in common is a work schedule that would be difficult for three people to manage, let alone just one. It’s not just being busy that’s the issue but also the scope of what that workload is. As business owners, they are responsible for the front and back end of everything; from managing their web presence and social media, to keeping product inventories and following the state or federal laws and guidelines necessary to conduct their businesses.  This is certainly the case for one of my clients. They own a winery in California.

Care to comment?

One of our clients has a tech help website.  He publishes new articles to the site daily and people can then leave comments with any questions or other input they have on the article.  This client likes to read and respond to all of the relevant comments, but if he had to go through all of the comments himself he would waste valuable time weeding out the spam and the comments that don’t follow his guidelines.  So that’s where we come in.

For this client we have a team of virtual assistants that monitor all the comments that come in, and either accept or reject them.  This task is completed twice per day every day of the year, including weekends and holidays, so that if a comment comes in that does not follow the guidelines, it is not on the site for long before one of our VAs catches it and removes it.

For the client this has worked out quite nicely:

“I’m using Contemporary VA to provide what I’m calling “virtual editorial assistance”, monitoring and filtering user submitted content to my web site. They’ve done a great job following my direction and quickly coming up to speed on my needs. They’re asking the right questions as needed, and just “doing the job” the rest of the time. I’ll be sending more work their way in the future.”» Software Provider, Washington

Social Media and Your Virtual Assistant

If you are in the entertainment industry, you know how important social media and social networking can be. But, what if you find it challenging to find the time to maintain your presence? One of the benefits of having a Virtual Assistant is that you no longer have to worry about finding the time.

The biggest social media task I do for one of my musician clients is maintaining an active presence on Twitter. Not only does this include regular interaction with a client’s followers, but also in finding the appropriate people to follow. One of the best resources I use for targeted following, without relying on an automated service, is Twellow. Often referred to the yellow pages of Twitter, Twellow allows me to search for people within specific categories. This helps me to target specific groups of people and not waste any time filtering through random users.
