Social Media and Your Virtual Assistant

If you are in the entertainment industry, you know how important social media and social networking can be. But, what if you find it challenging to find the time to maintain your presence? One of the benefits of having a Virtual Assistant is that you no longer have to worry about finding the time.

The biggest social media task I do for one of my musician clients is maintaining an active presence on Twitter. Not only does this include regular interaction with a client’s followers, but also in finding the appropriate people to follow. One of the best resources I use for targeted following, without relying on an automated service, is Twellow. Often referred to the yellow pages of Twitter, Twellow allows me to search for people within specific categories. This helps me to target specific groups of people and not waste any time filtering through random users.

In order to interact with my client’s followers, I look through her followers’ tweets and retweet those that relate to the music industry or offer relevant advice. This helps build a good relationship with other tweeters.

Another social media task that we perform for the client is getting the word out when their newsletter is published online. We do this by crafting tweets that draw the readers’ interest and then link to the either the newsletter itself or to where you can sign up for the newsletter.

In addition to being a musician, this particular client also offers voice lessons. However, in order to get clients a certain amount of advertising must be done. Twice a week I place different ads on specified websites offering the client’s services. By taking these tasks off my client’s hands, I help free up their time and allow them to focus their efforts on other aspects of their business and the more profitable activities.

In this day and age, it is important for everyone to have an online presence.  For anyone, those in the music industry and other countless industries, building an online presence is very useful for marketing and so much more.
