Delegate, Focus, and GROW Your Business

Are you Blogging? Why you need to be!

A question that all of my clients ask is, “how can I get more traffic to my site?”  My response is always the same,  “Are you blogging?” Blogging can help you increase traffic to your site as well as create an attentive readership, communicate with your target audience, establish credibility and much more.  Let’s take a look at some of the most important reasons to blog.

When someone visits your site, they want to see current content.   And, one of the best ways to provide current content on your site is through a blog.  If you are going to blog it’s important that you blog regularly.  If someone visits your site and see’s the last blog was posted six months ago, they will quickly leave as they will feel that the content is not relevant.  However, if they see you have blogged regularly over a long period of time, they will have a reason to explore your site further and return in the future.

A blog is also a perfect way to communicate with your captive target audience.  You can use your blog to announce promotions, talk about past or future events, feature your products/services, and establish your credibility as an expert in your field.  Offer your target audience a reason to read by offering them tips and ideas they can use.  When you provide great content they will come back for more.  Make sure to also promote your blog on your social media outlets as well as offer the ability to subscribe to your blog via a RSS feed.

It’s important to remember that blogging is also an excellent way to optimize your website for search engines.  There are even great plugins that will help bloggers who do not have extensive knowledge of SEO.  By choosing keywords and focusing your blog topics on those keywords, your website can begin to rank higher in the search engines.

If you are unsure of where to begin, or don’t think you can maintain a blog on a regular basis, Contemporary VA can help!  We have many VA’s who are talented blog writers with the skills to help you maximize the potential of your posts by making sure they are content and keyword rich.  Take the first step toward successful blogging by learning more about our competitive VA packages.

I just wanted to say I totally agree that blogging is vitally important for the growth of a site! Being a stay-at-home is hard enough but when I added blogging into the mix at the beginning of the year I discovered how time crunched I can be. Blogging, SEO , networking, parenting and a million other things I am sure I don’t even know about yet (all because I have an idea about a parenting blog) The more help people can get the better off they will be in their business.

I can tell you when I am researching a company a blog is always one of the first places I go. If they are outdated or haven’t updated in months I don’t even bother looking. Time is of the essence for me and I want to know that a site is relevant and important to the content I am looking for.
