Delegate, Focus, and GROW Your Business

Featured Weekend Reading (04/25/2013)

TGIF! Those 4 letters about sum it up! It has been a crazy, busy week gearing up for month end here in CVA land but the weekend is finally here and its time to kick back and relax and get our weekend on! So what are you waiting for this is the last Friday in April so lets roll out April and bring in May with a bang!

Whether you are grilling and chillin, or spending time at the ballpark, or maybe doing some Spring cleaning, we hope you will take time out to enjoy some of the great posts we have chosen for your weekend reading pleasure. Here are just a few:

  • The Client Relationship and You-Everywhere we turn we have a relationship with someone whether it be a friendship, a romantic partnership, or a business relationship. How we nurture those relationships can make or break a business. The benefits of a strong business relationship can be never ending, enabling your business to expand and succeed. A bad business relationship can have quite the opposite effect and can even ruin your reputation. Be sure to check out Margie’s blog for some great ways to make your business relationships feel appreciated.

  • Why Your Online Presence Will Be Worth More Than Your Home- Whether you like it or not social media is here to stay. Your online presence can help make or break you not only as a business but as an individual. We live in a world where the first thing we do is go to Facebook to find out “the dirt” on someone. Before you try out a new vet, dr or restaurant we often check out reviews or the net to see what other people are saying. The same is true when companies and/or clients look to hire you. Be sure to check out Keenan’s great blog to learn more about your online presence.
  • Don’t Take Blame or Praise Personally! Define Yourself from Within!-   When someone says something negative towards us, its normal to be offended and to take it personally. Often the person making the negative statement just wants to have a voice in the situation and be heard. If you ignore the problem it could fester and cause you even more problems in the long run. The best thing to do is go ahead and face the problem and come up with solutions on how to overcome it. Be sure to check Mastin’s blog to learn more about not taking blame personally.
  • Why Guys Don’t Listen and Women Do? –  Its no secret that we often don’t think the men in our lives are really truly listening to us. But that’s not always true, they may hear everything we say but its often just that we communicate differently. If you are trying to talk to someone and you don’t feel like they are listening to you or just plain tuning you out look at how you are presenting your case. If you come across as nagging etc, more times than not you will be tuned out. And sometimes its things we inadvertently do ourselves that keep others from hearing us. Be sure to check out Allana’s great post to learn more about communication with others.

That’s all for this week. All of us here at CVA wish you a great weekend. See you next week with more great posts. Have you finished your Spring cleaning yet?  We’d love to hear about it!  Leave us a comment in the comments section. See you next week and be sure to visit Contemporary VA’s Stumble Upon Blog for even more featured posts.
