More Options Available On Pinterest

Pinterest continues to grow and is quickly becoming one of the larger social networks around. To keep up with its growing member base and changing needs, the site is constantly being upgraded with new options for those who love to pin. Since the beginning of the year, the site has quietly been adding new features and options, giving their “pinners” more ways to find new interesting information about things they enjoy. Our Virtual Assistants enjoy Pinterest and have been employing some of these new features for their clients.

Close-Up View Of Pins

Some changes have been added to give pinners a way to view more information on pins in the close-up view. The idea is to span further to give members more avenues to find additional tidbits about topics or subjects they are into. Some changes are:

  • Pins from the same board. Pinners can look at an entire board without leaving the page they are on.
  •  Pins from the same source. This gives information on others pins that have came from the same website.
  •  People who pinned this also pinned. Just like most shopping sites that show other products bought by those who bought one product , this gives pinners a view of what other people with the same interest have been looking at.

Pins With More Information

Another useful change that Pinterest has added is more information available on pins on many participating sites. If you see something that is interesting, there will often be more immediate details on it instead of needing to research further. Some examples are:

  • Recipe Pins. Many cooking and recipe sites and blogs will now include more information on these pins such as ingredients and cooking time.
  • Product Pins. If you find a product that you like, many sites will include pricing and shopping spots.
  • Movie Pins. Get ratings and actor information on movies that appeal to you.

One other new option that Pinterest has added is a Pin It button on many mobile applications, available on the “new look” of Pinterest. Users that want to view this option but do not have the new look need to click on the Get It Now button from the home page to change their look.

As this fun social site grows, it will undoubtedly give its pinners more and more ways to find and follow the things they love.
