Delegate, Focus, and GROW Your Business

Anticipating Your Client’s Needs

Being a good VA has a lot to do with understanding and anticipating your clients’ needs. I’m new to being a VA, and was assigned my first client just a few months ago. Working with my client has been very rewarding. This client is a life coach, who provides career and success coaching. She’s led an interesting life, and has overcome many challenges to get to where she is today.  She is consistently nice and pleasant, and that inspires me to do anything I can to help make her successful.  My key focus here has been on growing her business.

In the beginning, the client was doing no social media. So, one of the first things I did was to create both a Facebook and a LinkedIn page for the business. Then I began promoting her website and her weekly blog post through Facebook and Twitter. Additionally, she’s made a free report about dealing with major life changes available to her website visitors. In turn, I offer this report to followers on Facebook and Twitter. The client also has two books out and available for sale. I promote those books on social media, and have them listed in the products section of the client’s website.

When I first started, the client’s website was old and outdated. So I redesigned the website to give it a more modern updated look. The client gave me the freedom to use my best judgment in redesigning the website. Using the new Optimize Press 2.0 theme for WordPress, I changed the color scheme and layout of each page on the site. I also updated her sidebar opt-in form to make it much more visible, and added a short, succinct description of what the client was offering in her newsletter. She was very pleased with the outcome. I work constantly to make little improvements to the website, in an effort to make the site easy to navigate for potential customers.

In the short time I’ve been working with this client, I have seen an increase in traffic to her website and followers on Twitter. My goal is to continue growing this client’s business, utilizing all the tools I have at my disposal. The client has been very happy with the growth so far, and anticipates even more growth for her business in the future.
