Delegate, Focus, and GROW Your Business

Five Ideas On How To Utilize Your VA

If you are new to having a Virtual Assistant, you may not be taking advantage of all the ways you can utilize this resource. You may have chose to hire a VA to help with a certain aspect of your business, which is great, but there may be other ways your VA can save you time and even money. Our VA’s are a wily bunch; they have many skills and are very talented in several areas, which you should use to your advantage. Here are five ways you may not have thought of to utilize your VA:

  1. Personal obligations. You may have hired a VA to help with your business; however, they can help you with other tasks as well, freeing up your time to focus on your company. Just like an in-house assistant, your VA can take care of travel arrangements, send flowers to your mom on her birthday and handle all types of personal obligations for you.
  2. Transcription. Have a letter or memo you need typed up or want a great speech put on paper? Record what you need done and send it to your VA to put into a professional copy that can be printed or shared digitally with clients or staff members.
  3. Technology support. One of the best ways you can use your VA is to work with technology that you are not familiar with. Our VA’s are always learning the newest technology, including applications such as Infusionsoft, JigsawBox, Aweber and any new software or programs that become popular.
  4.  Organization. Staying organized can be time consuming. Updating contact lists and compiling spreadsheets is necessary but not something you should be spending your time on. Let your VA enter in that pile of business cards into your contact list and do your data entry for you.
  5.  Internet. Anything web related is a great way to utilize your VA. Social media posts, blog updates, creating a webinar or adding content to your website are all ways your VA can keep your online presence relevant.

The idea is to use your VA to take over tasks that take you away from what you do best: running your business! Consult with your assistant and work together to make the most of the time that you are paying for so you get the most value for your money. That is what Contemporary Virtual Assistance is all about.
