What Should You Be Doing to Grow Your Business?

Most entrepreneurs are experts in their field, having dedicated their professional lives to using this expertise to start, run and grow a business. These small business owners often need to wear the many hats of running a business, especially when they are first starting out, from marketing executive to receptionist. As a business begins to flourish, there comes a time when it is necessary for owners to start delegating some of these tasks and using their time and expertise more efficiently.

Where Does Your Business Need Attention?

There are many areas of your business that need your personal attention and many that do not. Identifying which tasks you can delegate to your Virtual Assistant is the first step to making more time for those areas that would most benefit from your expertise. By handing off some of these tasks such as email, blog/website/SEO management, marketing and other administrative items to your VA, you can focus your attention on areas that affect your bottom line, such as:

  • Your team. No one can motivate and build your team better than you. Whether you have one employee or a hundred, spending time with your team is essential to your business’ success. Not only can they benefit from your expertise, having that personal connection is important for retention and loyalty.
  • New products/services. Adding new products and services will require your input and expertise, much more so than many other generic tasks your VA can do for you. Dedicate your time to the new product launches you have been putting on the back burner.
  • Customer relations. It is not just your product or service that builds repeat and ongoing customers; it is the relationship you have with those customers. Spend time personally connecting with your customers to build loyalty.
  • Networking. Use your time to network within your industry as well as within your community to build your brand. Sponsor charity events, participate in local events and help create a positive image for your business.

Your time as a business owner is valuable! Assess what you are currently spending your time on and find areas that you can hand over to your VA. By using your time and expertise in the areas that will matter the most in the growth of your business, you can make substantial improvements to your revenue and build your brand to new levels!
