Tracking Social Media Made Simple


When working online, no matter your business or your goals, it is important to have a method to analyze your efforts. However, with all the different platforms available, you may not have the time to learn how to use them or to set up all the details yourself. This is where having a virtual assistant can come in handy.

One of my clients purchased access to an in-depth tracking system that not only allows you to set up an initial tracking link, but also allows you to set up sub-tracking links, to get the really detailed information. She wanted to use this program to track the success of a new marketing campaign that would mostly be promoted through various social media sites. However, the program was a new one and the client didn’t know how to use it.

This is where I stepped up to really give her some help. After getting the access information for the site, I immediately logged into the new system and started reviewing the instructional videos that explained the different elements of the program. I took notes on the way the program worked, and how we could best use it for her business. I then outlined the best way we could set up the sub-tracking to really see what methods were most effective.

During our next scheduled meeting, I presented my notes on the system and gave the client a brief walk through of how we’d use it.  I also illustrated exactly what she would need to do to review the tracking statistics. Once given the go ahead, I immediately set up the different tracking links. And as a little extra, I also set up a spreadsheet that included a breakdown for each item we were tracking. That way, my client could easily see each tracking link the program referred to.  The spreadsheet also gave her quick access to individual tracking links, in case she decided to do some posting herself.

Making things simple and easy for my clients is something  I always strive to do. Whether it’s learning a program so you don’t have to, or creating a simple document with important information, there’s nothing too big or too small for Team CVA to help you with to make your business a success.

It’s always helpful to have someone interpret the tools and assist in their integration. Far too many folks are not tech savvy and get lost in the instructional data, let alone learn how to fully apply the tool. Taking the time to understand and implement a client’s needs through any tool is a skill that will only grow in it’s need as social media continues to birth new opportunities.
