Simplify Your Social Media Posting

Juggling all your social media marketing and posts can be a full time job. In fact, for large corporations and organizations, positions have been created within their marketing departments just to handle this time consuming, yet beneficial, aspect of their consumer relations. While as a small business owner may not have the bandwidth in your company to hire a full-time social media specialist, there are tools available to help simplify and manage your social media postings.

Social Media Management Tools

Software developers recognized the need for simplifying social media management, creating tools that can allow you to post to several social media venues all from one application. This saves time, helping you track when, where and what you post to Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+ and other mediums. There are many different tools available, each with their own benefits and limitations. Here are a few of the most used options.

  • Buffer. One of the newest social media management tools is Buffer. This application allows you to post to up to 12 different profiles, all from one site, available via your online account or mobile application. Another benefit is that Buffer offers custom scheduling for your posts, making it easy to input posts for important future events. Buffer has a free version, which limits you to only 3 social media profiles. Currently, Buffer does not connect to Google+, which can be a negative for some.
  • Sprout Social. Although quite a bit more expensive than some of the other social media tools, Sprout Social is also designed with businesses in mind. The service offers multiple social media account management and posting, analytics, keyword monitoring and the ability for collaboration within a marketing team. There is a free trial available, after which the fees are currently between $39-$99 a month.
  • HootSuite. For social media management, HootSuite is definitely one of the most used, with both free and paid user options. There is both a web account and mobile application, with reduced options via mobile. You can schedule posts through HootSuite, as you can through Buffer. You can use the auto-scheduler, which posts to the pages you choose in a staggered fashion.

There are many other social media management software options available, each with their own pros and cons. While these tools do not eliminate the time needed to manage social media, they can greatly reduce that time and simplify the process. Along with using one of these tools, try delegating some of your social media management to your Virtual Assistant. Let your VA help with managing your posts, and offer suggestions on which social media management software would work best for your business.
