Delegate, Focus, and GROW Your Business

The True Art of Delegation

Owning a business is hard! The high risk to reward ratio keeps most people on the outside looking in at entrepreneurship. They tend to avoid going out of their comfort zones. They tread the waters of safety and security, and that’s okay. But there is a well kept secret. It’s one of the best business practices to use and your most valuable tool – a Virtual Assistant.

Deadlines, customer questions, and technology issues are just a few of the fires you will have to put out in your business. And if not addressed sooner rather than later, you will soon find yourself out of business.

In today’s business world, you have to be comfortable with being uncomfortable. Meaning, there will be times when you will have to run towards the fire when everyone else is running away from it. Fires can come at you from several directions, and sometimes in one day. But using a VA is your best option to help tackle business fires with speed and clarity. And this is where the true art of business comes into play.

Speed is when you recognize what needs done; then delegating those tasks to free up your time. With speed comes clarity. It allows you to focus on the important things – like marketing and profit.

Having a Virtual Assistant can save your business. Often they will have a vast amount of experience in different disciplines.  This can provide expertise when you need it most. The tasks you may not know how to do or are afraid to tackle can be handed over to a VA.

Let’s go over an example:

The night before you make a list of tasks needing done. When you work for yourself it’s not uncommon to have a list of twenty To-Do’s. The immediate overwhelm falls just short of taking your breath away. Then you realize you have help. Instead of figuring out what you are going to do, you make a list of delegated tasks.

In the morning you email your VA (with deadlines) and focus on only what you can do. Your day is more focused on building your business as opposed to putting out fires. And exponential growth follows speed and clarity.

As you draw out your list, revisit and determine what you can delegate. Then hand it over to a virtual assistant and watch the magic happen. You will find that your productivity increases ten-fold. The more people who are a part of your idea, the better it will relate to other people.
