5 Ways to Customize Your Marketing Plan

Customized Marketing Image

Having a solid marketing plan provides a foundation for your business growth. It’s important to be consistent across the various marketing platforms, and present your brand in just the right light.

An effective marketing plan is customized to promote your business. A one-size-fits-all plan, found on many sites across the web, will not help build the foundation you need for success.

So customize your marketing plan to ensure you will be seen and heard. Better yet, work with your Virtual Assistant to create a comprehensive marketing plan just for you. Follow these five tips for making the most of your plan.

#1 Identify Your Target Customers

It’s important to know who your audience is and to tailor your message to reach it. Segment your customers to better focus your attention on targeted lists for specific products. By showing your audience that you do, indeed, pay attention to their needs, you will blow the competition away!

#2 Customize Your Social Media

Customize your marketing plan to include all of your social media platforms, and tailor your posts to your prospective customers. Include contests that are in line with your customers’ needs to draw in new followers, and encourage engagement from your existing fan base. Engage on each of your pages through direct messages, comments, and sharing of posts and information that relate to what your customers want to see. Segmenting the audience also allows you to make highly effective targeted ads.

#3 Email and Content Marketing are Key

Promote your business on more social media platforms. Use your social media platforms to promote your blogs and drive traffic to your site. Be sure to actually blog! You don’t want to promote a page that hasn’t been updated in six months! Customize your opt in forms to gather more information from your audience. Tagging is a very important piece to providing a customized marketing plan. Email your list often to keep them engaged and wanting more, but customize your emails to your segmented lists. (This is where tagging comes in.)

#4 Be Mobile Ready

“There’s an app for that,” is a familiar phrase and it’s now more true than ever before. In the very mobile business world we live in, it’s important to market to your mobile customers too. If you’re not ready to launch a full-service app, ensure your site is mobile friendly. What’s worse than directing your Twitter followers to a blog posted on a site they can’t read on their smart phones?

#5 Analyze, Review & Revise

Every great marketing plan needs to be revised and customized often. Your plans should constantly be changing to ensure you’re staying on top of what your target audience wants and needs and to make the most of your efforts. Analyze your results monthly and revise your posting schedule to ensure you’re getting the most from all the work you (or your VA) has put into your marketing plan.

Creating the most customized and effective marketing plan can be difficult for the beginner, or even the most seasoned entrepreneur.  Work with staff that will help bring out the best in you and your business, providing comprehensive plans and detailed analytics to show you the return on your marketing investment.
