March Small Business Blog Ideas

Spring, blog

If you have a blog for your small business, you need to come up with great blog ideas ahead of time. If you don’t have a blog yet and not sure how to start one, read this.  Now is a great time to plan interesting and useful blog titles for March. Take advantage of the coming holidays and season to provide themes and inspiration for topics that will engage your customers and, hopefully, pull in new followers. No time in your schedule? This is a perfect assignment for your virtual assistant.

Special Day Themes

Did you know that there are a variety of special days and weeks during the month of March? Depending on the type of business you run, you can create new articles and promotions in your blog all throughout March. Some of the days might seem strange, but present unique, memorable, and fun ways of getting your brand the attention your looking for. Use your imagination!

  • March Madness Tournament Your service company, store or restaurant could host an event promoting discounts for patrons who come in wearing team colors.
  • National Nutrition Month Share tips on healthy food and recipe ideas using local ingredients.
  • Women’s History Month   Feature a historical female figure from your town and share a great story in your blog about her.
  • Pi Day – Hopefully, you remember your math formulas since Pi =3.14. On the 14th of the month, tell some math-related jokes or have a pie-related story or content focus for your blog.  Know a good recipe to share? Use lots of great photos!
  • St. Patrick’s Day There’s almost no limit to appreciating St Patrick’s Day. People love to have a good time, so capitalize on that feel-good theme. Remember, everyone is Irish on March 17th!
  • Spring – March 19th is the first day of Spring this year.  How about a Spring cleaning sale, or promotion to “clear out” your inventory? What about a yard or home beautification promotion or gardening article?
  • Major league Baseball Opening Day – March 28th marks a great opportunity to start getting excited about the local teams. Use the national pastime to put a smile on your customers’ faces.
  • Mom & Pop Business Day – Yes, this is a “thing.” Celebrate your “Mom & Pop” business with promotions that honor your early days. Post photos & stories and perhaps schedule and promote a fun event hosted in your store or offices to share your history with clients or patrons
